Cab Solutions focuses exclusively on remodeling elevator cab interiors and does not do any mechanical or maintenance of the elevator itself. The company is set up to work with elevator companies and consultants, often as a subcontractor to a larger modernization project. It coordinates with the maintenance company to cover mechanical issues and ensures that elevator(s) do not remain out of service for an extended period during the interior remodeling. Cab Solutions offers a wide variety of cabs, from prepackaged budget to durable, hightraffic to customized solutions from a designer or architect.

Custom Elevator Cab DesignIn addition to replacing wall panels, the scope of remodeling very often includes replacing the ceiling, lighting and floor covering, as well as re-skinning doors and re-cladding return walls, transoms, headers and bucks. Cab Solutions relies upon a wellrounded selection of suppliers to meet those needs. The most difficult question to answer usually isn't what can you put into your elevator cab, but what should you put into it. An appropriate solution depends on many factors: building codes, durability, integration with building lobby and hallway design, personal choice and, of course, budget constraints.

The most common materials found in elevator cabs are plastic laminates, wood veneers, textured stainless-steel products and stone. Less common solutions involve glass, specialty plastics and mirrors. As long as it meets fire codes, is available on the market and does not affect the operation of the elevator, it can probably be installed. Textured stainless steel and stone are highly durable and relatively easy to clean. Plastic laminates also provide durability and represent a less expensive solution.

Since following (national, state or local) code requirements is an essential part of the elevator remodel, Cab Solutions researches the requirements for each project down to the local authority level. The company is located in the Philadelphia area.
